Los Amigos on Whitesville
Just to give everybody a "heads up" about a restaurant here in Columbus. My parents were here from out of town last Friday (May 16) and we went out to dinner with them at Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant on Whitesville Road (next to Outback). My husband paid for our meal with a credit card and included tip on it. My dad paid for his meal on his credit card, marked through the tip on the receipt and left a tip on the table. My father called me the other day after he checked his credit card online. The restaurant had added a 50% "tip" onto his charge. We checked ours and found out they had added an extra $1 onto our charge. I'm guessing the waitress didn't think she got a good enough tip out of us?! If you choose to eat there after this, make sure you check your credit card statement or pay in cash. My parents have already had their charges reversed and we're doing it today. My husband is going to the restaurant today to talk to management. I've already submitted a complaint to the BBB about the fraudulent charges.

They have craptastic food anyway. o.o El Zapata is closer to the fare you'll see in Texas. (There's one across from Wendy's and Sonic on Macon/Wynton Rd.)

Sorry to hear what happened, though. You'd think they'd want their customers to return. --Wonder if it was just the waitstaff or what. I imagine this little tale will travel pretty quickly around town, though.

Glad to know you're getting things sorted out alright, though. :)

I like El Zapata's (the one on Wynnton) chicken soup. yum!!

Our bank gave us our extra dollar back. It's not the point of the $1. It's illegality of the situation! When my husband went up there, apparently the manager wasn't there but in the lady's very broken English, she said she would tell them. Whatever. It's filed with the BBB.
